In addition to collaborative engagements, we support a wide range of initiatives and industry bodies that contribute to the development of industry standards and improve best practice. As Stewart Investors is not a legal entity, on occasion we sign up to initiatives via our parent company; First Sentier Investors.

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi. CSE researches into, lobbies for and communicates the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable.
We are supporters of CSE and make use of their research as part of our investment analysis.
Founded in 2014, Project Drawdown is a non-profit organisation that seeks to help the world reach “drawdown” — the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Project Drawdown’s deeply researched collection of c.90 climate change solutions, which if scaled up, can deliver the Paris Agreement’s 1.5oC temperature goal.
We are a supporter of Project Drawdown and map portfolio holdings to their climate solutions.
IGCC is the leading network for Australian and New Zealand investors. The group seeks to deliver real and accelerated progress on climate change by connecting, collaborating, and advocating on behalf of investors to responsibly manage climate risks and opportunities, and drive sustainable returns for investors and the beneficiaries they represent.
First Sentier Investors is a member of the IGCC.
Established in 2020, the IAST APAC initiative is an investor-led, multi-stakeholder project. The initiative seeks to engage with companies in the Asia-Pacific region to promote effective action in finding, fixing and preventing modern slavery in operations and supply chains.
First Sentier Investors is the Chair of the IAST and Stewart Investors are leading on one company engagement.
InterInvest exists to drive LGBT+ equality and inclusion across the investment industry in the UK, and supports similar initiatives global.
First Sentier Investors is a member and partner of InterInvest.
Investment 20/20 is a social enterprise that aims to promote greater opportunity and to achieve systemic change across the industry so that all investment management firms hire for potential rather than academic background or experience alone. First Sentier Investors is an employer of Investment 20/20.
Founded in 2020, Altiorem is a not-for-profit library and resource centre that:
- Helps people understand the role finance must play in addressing sustainability challenges and building a better future for all.
- Supports advocates for sustainable finance in making stronger arguments for change, and implementing solutions with real impact.
- Helps a new generation of leaders gain a solid understanding of critical sustainability issues and their relevance to business and finance.
We are a supporter of Altiorem and the organisation was founded by a team member.
The Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) is an independent, non-profit membership organisation dedicated to working with investors, companies and regulators in the implementation of effective corporate governance practices throughout Asia. ACGA was founded in 1999 from a belief that corporate governance is fundamental to the long-term development of Asian economies and capital markets.
We are a supporter of ACGA and use their research as part of our investment analysis.
The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, Investment Leaders Group (ILG) is a global network of pension funds, insurers and asset managers, with over $9 trillion under management and advice. The group is committed in its mission to advance the practice of responsible investment.
First Sentier Investors was one of the founding members and was previously Chair of the Working Group.
In 2022 First Sentier Investors became a certified B Corporation (B Corp), following a two-year certification process. As a autonomous investment group within First Sentier Investors, Stewart Investors is covered by this certification.
The certification means that we are now part of a community of more than 6,000 companies with a shared goal to transform the communities in which we live and operate for the benefit of the people and our planet.
The FSC is a peak body which sets mandatory Standards and develops policy for more than 100 member companies operating in Australia’s financial services industry.
First Sentier Investors is a Director of the board, and Member of the Fund Management board Committee, Investment Expert Group, and ESG Working Group.
WBA Allies represent organisations working at global, regional, and local levels to shape the private sector’s contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Echoing the true spirit of SDG17 – Partnerships for the Goals. First Sentier Investors is an Allie and is committed to WBA’s mission, vision, and values, and believe in the power of benchmarks and cross-sector partnerships to drive systemic progress on the SDGs.
40:40 Vision is an initiative led by HESTA, and supported by Chief Executive Women, the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI), Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), and the 30% Club to pursue diversity in executive leadership in ASX300 companies.
First Sentier Investors is a member of the Steering Group and Investor Working Group.
